Community Outreach

We believe in giving back to our communities through a wide variety of sponsorship and education programs. Through financial contributions, resource donations and staff volunteerism, we support many events and organizations in our community. Below are just a few of the charities and organizations that CRCU actively supports:

Partners In Education

CRCU is an active participant in the Partners in Education program administered by the Baytown Chamber of Commerce. For 19 years, CRCU has had the honor "partnering" with Lamar Elementary.  During that time we have sponsored numerous field trips, classroom learning projects, and award programs for both students and teachers. CRCU and Lamar Elementary were named “Partners of the Year” in 2005, and again in 2010.

Bay Area Relay for Life

Baytown Area Relay for Life is one of the largest and most profitable events for cancer awareness and fund raising in the state of Texas and a surrounding five-state region. CRCU is very proud to be a sponsor for this worthy event each year. Additionally, the credit union has team representation each year through a dedicated group of employees donating their time and energy to the Relay.

United Way of Greater Baytown Area & Chambers County

United Way benefits residents of East Harris County and Chambers County through a number of charitable and government organizations. In addition to the contributions made by employees, the credit union donates time and funds towards many community events sponsored by the United Way.

Commitment to Education

Each year, CRCU dedicates many volunteer hours and thousands of dollars to help support the school districts inside our field of membership. These school districts include: Barbers Hill ISD, Crosby ISD, Goose Creek CISD, Huffman ISD, and Humble ISD. In addition to dozens of booster club, band or activity program sponsorships throughout the school year, CRCU invests more than $25,000 annually to the back to school teacher assemblies and new teacher orientations at the beginning of the school year.

Project Graduation

Local school districts offer graduating teens a safe and rewarding way to celebrate their graduation from high school through Project Graduation. CRCU supports the efforts of all six local high schools through contributions to their individual Project Graduation activities.

We know there are many worthy causes in our community.  If you would like for us to consider your event, please complete our donation request form.
