Giving Back to the Communities We Serve
On Monday, October 12, CRCU employees will step away from their everyday roles and into the community for Powered by Purpose, our companywide day of service.
We've partnered with nine local organizations across our service areas. Our team will be cleaning parks, painting facilities, sorting donations, caring for shelter animals, and putting together kits for families and neighbors in need.
As a credit union, we're owned by our members and rooted in the communities where they live and work. Powered by Purpose is one way we put that into action.
Where We'll Be Serving
ACE District Baytown
Our volunteers will pick up litter and clean up public spaces to help make the district more welcoming for residents, businesses, and visitors.
Baytown Habitat for Humanity
With a small staff, Habitat relies on extra hands behind the scenes. Our team will organize and file documents, scan records, and get the office in order so Habitat can spend more time serving local families.
Eddie V. Gray Wetlands Center
At the Baytown Nature Center, our team will pick up litter along the coastline, plant flowers, and refresh flower beds throughout the park.
Bridgehaven Children's Advocacy Center
We'll help create a bright, welcoming space for the children and families Bridgehaven serves by painting areas throughout the facility and organizing their storage space.
Churches United in Caring
Churches United in Caring runs resale shops that fund food, housing assistance, utility payments, gas cards, and emergency shelter. Our team will sort clothing, do light painting and yard work, organize toys for Christmas distribution, and prepare items for their annual Christmas Market.
Hearts & Hands of Baytown
Our volunteers will paint and label shipping containers to create organized, usable spaces. We'll also assemble essentials kits for neighbors experiencing homelessness and meal kits for families in need.
Holocaust Remembrance Association
Each volunteer will paint a remembrance rock honoring a child who lost their life in the Holocaust, and we'll assemble rock painting kits for Humble ISD students. The day continues at Holocaust Remembrance Park with a tour led by a family member of a Holocaust survivor, followed by cleaning gardens, painting benches, and planting flowers.
Mont Belvieu Animal Services
Our team will clean kennels, put down fresh bedding, refill food and water, and exercise the dogs. Most of all, we'll spend time with the animals and give them the attention they deserve.
Mission Northeast
Mission Northeast provides clothing, food, and emergency assistance to families in East Montgomery County. We'll sort clothing for families to shop, prepare personal care kits, and assemble laundry detergent bags for distribution.
