Dr. Lynda Villanueva is a board candidate for Position #2.
She is currently the 10th President of Lee College and holds the distinction of being both the third woman and the first person of color to lead the institution in its 91-year history. Her leadership extends into the broader local community as well, with roles in the Baytown Chamber of Commerce, Baytown Rotary Club, Economic Development Foundation, Greater Houston Partnership, Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital, Houston Port Economic Alliance, Mont Belvieu Area Chamber of Commerce, and the United Way of Greater Baytown Area and Chambers County.
Born in San Antonio and a Baytown resident since 2020, Dr. Villanueva graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology before earning both a Master of Arts and a PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Houston.
She and her husband, William, have 2 children.
Roy Barefield has served on the CRCU Advisory Board since 2014 and was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2016. He is currently Board Secretary and is serving on several committees including Audit, Compensation & Benefits, and Finance Risk.
A native of Baytown, he graduated from Ross S. Sterling High School and from Lamar University with a degree in nursing. He worked as a registered nurse for Houston Methodist Hospital San Jacinto for 28 years, as an instructor for Lee College, and is currently employed at HCA Clear Lake as an Administrator on Site.
He and his wife, Cindy, have two children and one grandchild. They enjoy traveling and collecting antiques.
Charles Johnson is a board candidate for Position #5.
He is currently serving as the Mayor of Baytown and is employed as a commercial and residential real estate agent with Coldwell Banker.
He also serves on the Baytown Chamber of Commerce board, the Education Foundation board for GCCISD, the Methodist Hospital Patient Family Care board, and the Optimist Club board.
Born in Houston and a long-time resident of Baytown, Mr. Johnson is a proud graduate of Ross S. Sterling High School, Lee College, and the College of Biblical Studies. He holds multiple degrees in Child Development, Substance and Abuse Counseling, and Organizational Leadership.
He and his wife, Latoya, have been married 23 years and have 5 children and 1 grandchild.
