Role:

To represent the credit union in a professional manner when greeting members and the general public on the phone and in person, insuring that they are directed to someone who can provide them with assistance. Actively sell credit union products and services to ensure predetermined organizational goal are met. Adheres to all policies and procedures. Adheres to all policies and procedures. Adheres to Federal and State Laws and Regulations.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

E(Essential) or N(Nonessential)
55%   Greets the public when they come in the credit union. Determines their needs and directs them to the appropriate person. Provides account information to members including printouts and statements of accounts. E
15% Identifies and acts on product and sales opportunities consistent with established sales standards/objectives. E
5% Directs memberships, trends, suggestions, comments to Branch Manager. E
5% Processes check orders and issues temporary checks. Orders copies of cleared checks. E
5% Takes ATM applications; mails information on new and closed accounts; places captures on ATM cards in data processing system; replaces ATM cards and places stop payments on accounts. E
5% Assures lobby area is neat and acceptable in appearance. N
5% Process change of address forms, maintains assigned records and lobby supplies, such as coffee, brochures and information sheets N
5% Performs other related duties as assigned. N

Expectations:

  1. To greet all visitors in a courteous, friendly, timely and professional manner.
  2. To work as a team member in completing department goals.
  3. To answer the telephone in an accurate, courteous, friendly and professional manner.
  4. To answer all phone calls within three (3) rings, when applicable.
  5. To process member check orders with zero errors.
  6. To maintain a professional appearance and a well-supplied and organized work area.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: Up to six months of similar or related experience.
Education: Equivalent to a high school education.
Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.
Other Skills: PC skills. Strong, friendly voice and good diction.
